Goya의 그림세계
고야는 1746년 스페인의 아라곤이라는 작은 마을에서 태어났다
스페인 궁정의 궁정화가로서 평생 큰 성공과 명망을 얻었지만
시기가 시기인 만큼 파란만장한 생애를 살았습니다.
서민(庶民) 감정을 자유롭게 표출(表出)
초기 왕족과 귀족들의 초상화를 그리던 시절을 거쳐서,
나폴레옹의 스페인 침공 이후 전쟁의 참화를 그리던 시절.. 그리고 말년의 어둡고 간결한 연작들까지
자신의 시대를 왕성한 창작활동으로 낱낱이 기록하여,
18세기와 19세기를 이어주는 가교 역할을 하였습니다.
그의 일생은 그가 예외적일만큼 폭넓고 다양한 정신의 소유자임을 보여주었다.
그러나 이러한 다양성은 그가 일관성의 결여된 처세론자라는 비판을 받는 이유가 되기도 했다.
19세기 후반 인상파 화가들에게도 많은 영향을 끼쳐서
